Chicago Digitas USAWhat we want: A seasoned PRINT production expert who generates advanced level digital prepress files and possesses intermediate level traditional comp skills. He or she works closely with the Studio Manager to implement workflow processes that increase department efficiency. Minimum Requirements: Expert level in Quark and Illustrator. Intermediate to expert level in Photoshop. InDesign a plus. Minimum of 3 years full time agency experience creating, prepping and pre-flighting digital files. Proven ability to manage projects independently. Technical Skills: In-depth understanding of prepress technology and requirements, including US Postal requirements for direct mail. Comprehensive understanding of different printing and binding processes/terminology. Strong understanding and proficiency in graphic applications including Quark, Photoshop and Illustrator, as well as their related extensions, plug-ins, and filters. Ability to keep up with evolving publishing, printing, and reprographic technologies. Creative Skills: Solid understanding of typography, including kerning/tracking, leading, font identification and positive/negative space. Ability to comprehend and execute Art Director’s vision thru all stages of project lifecycle with minimal supervision. Strong eye for design, allowing you to add value to all projects. Work Skills: Is able to prioritize schedules and deadlines while working on multiple projects. Proactively manages all aspects of a project with problem solving enthusiasm. Independently able to look at situations and make good decisions, while also keeping the bigger picture in mind. Is an active advocate of department processes and procedures agency-wide. Is able to educate peers on workflow processes and application support as needed. Consistently works with a team-building spirit. Is seen as a resource to peers.
